Backfill & foundation-grade.

- 01Chapter 01
Well-graded medium sand.
A mix of coarse and medium particles interlock under compaction for a firm, stable fill.
- 02Chapter 02
Drains reasonably.
Enough coarse fraction to shed water rather than trap it under a slab.
- 03Chapter 03
Cost-effective in volume.
Priced by the yard — the go-to fill for foundations, house pads, and yard build-up.
- 04Chapter 04
Reliable local supply.

How to install red sand right.
A short field guide from our yard team. Always follow your engineer's drawings for reinforcement and structural details.
- 1
Strip topsoil and any organic material from the placement area first.
- 2
Place sand in 100 mm loose lifts — never dump one thick layer.
- 3
Mist each lift lightly with water — damp, not saturated.
- 4
Compact each lift with a plate compactor (or roller for larger areas) before adding the next.
- 5
Trim to level and check with a straightedge before pouring concrete over the top.
Red Sand quality standards.
- Free of organic matter, roots and rubbish
- Screened to remove oversize stones before dispatch
- Consistent grading across loads for predictable compaction
